About

Ruchdi Maalouf is an independent arbitrator and consultant with extensive experience in natural resources, energy, commodities and infrastructure.

Ruchdi Maalouf is a dual French and Lebanese national. He is civil law and common law educated and qualified in England & Wales and Ireland. He has worked in London, Paris, Singapore, Moscow, Tokyo and Seoul. Ruchdi Maalouf started his career with Professor Ibrahim Fadlallah in 2001. Under his mentorship, he was involved in arbitration and tribunal work from his early professional days. He joined Herbert Smith in London in 2006, and trained as a solicitor, qualifying in the Energy group. He alternated legal and commercial roles in the energy industry, culminating with an appointment to an executive role in the gas industry with one of the largest LNG buyers in the world. He resumed his career in arbitration in 2024.​​ Ruchdi Maalouf has a deep experience of the technical, commercial and strategic dimensions of the natural resources, energy, commodities and infrastructure industries, enabling him to provide comprehensive, informed, and balanced judgement in dispute resolution matters. Ruchdi Maalouf is in the arbitrator and expert databases of the ICC, a member of the LCIA, a supporting member of the LMAA, and is included in the panels of ICC France, ICC Lebanon, DIAC, ArbitrateAD, SIAC, and BICAM.
